Service Description

Included - all materials, tools and firing & glazing of up to 5 pieces & we invite you to share in complimentary hot drinks & biscuits in our Victorian walled garden studio. Led by Lorraine, a full time production thrower of over 35 years Lorraine. Post graduate designer maker to clients including the Victoria and Albert Museum. A fun, relaxing and completely absorbing day for beginners, or more experienced students may use the day to hone specific techniques. Students are taken through all the basic techniques of throwing, turning, handling and decoration with one student to each working area with electric wheel. Up to about 4 pots by each student are subsequently dried and bisque fired, then glazed by the potters in your choice of the beautiful reactive colour glazes characteristic of Woodsetton pottery. Pots are twice fired to make them dishwasher/micro/oven proof, and students collect approximately 6 weeks later. Pots can be posted for an extra charge. Alternatively students can return for a to specially arranged (at a reduced rate) half day or full day workshops to decorate and glaze their own work.
